Price Chopper launches targeted marketing device
Music to our ears, targeted marketing to grocery shoppers based on their actual purchase history. Give us a minute, we’re a little verklempt.
Price Chopper Supermarkets (based in Schenectady, New York) has announced that iSaveToday, a 1-to-1 shopper program delivering offers and messages to consumers at the start of their shopping trip, is now available in all 115 Price Chopper Supermarkets in six Northeastern states. Shoppers scan their AdvantEdge Card at the iSaveToday dispenser located at the store’s entrance and receive a sheet of up to eight offers and messages targeted for them based on their previous 64-week shopping history. The iSaveToday dispenser is a purpose-built "coupon dispenser" designed for rapid throughput by moving all thinking and decision-making to intelligent software with knowledge about how each shopper has made prior purchasing decisions.
The grocer plans to use the consumer-brand dialogue to implement a variety of marketing programs that further engage shoppers, including:
* points or dollar-based loyalty clubs
* sweepstakes
* personalized sampling
